DECEMBER NEWSLETTER

 

Hello Everyone!

A big welcome to our newbies who have joined us this month!

 

It’s that time of the year again!  December is always a mega busy time in Greengables! We have already begun to sing Christmas songs and the tree has been decorated! The children have even had shloer and shortbread!

 

 Thank you so much for your great support of our 100 Star Jump Challenge! £1013 Raised!! This really is an incredible amount! In fact, I think it is the most we have ever had raised for a single fundraiser! You have no idea the difference this will make to us this year, allowing us to purchase much needed resources and contributing towards the rising running cost of the group! Amazing! Thankyou!

 

The school are having a Christmas Jumper day on Friday 6th December and we have decided to join them!  Children may wear a Christmas jumper and can make a £1 donation towards Christmas funds. Please don’t buy a new jumper, add some tinsel, sparkle, bauble or decoration to any jumper. Anything goes!

 

We have our Punch & Judy Show on Monday 16th December.  This is an “old school” puppet show and the children love it! There is always lots of interaction, excited shouting & screaming and plenty of laughter! 

 

The children’s calendars will be on display soon! These are always a hit with grandparents etc! We will keep you posted as soon as they are ready!

 

We will be holding a Christmas ballot this month! The children are each receiving a ballot page to torture friends & family! Prizes will be listed on the page and include a great Christmas hamper. Good luck!

 

As a final celebration of the Christmas season, you are invited to our ‘Songs & Santa’ event on Friday 20th December at 10:30a.m. This may be a little bit different for those who have attended in previous years; wrap up warm and be prepared to sing!

 

PLEASE DO NOT buy presents for the staff this year! Everyone has enough to think about at this time of year, so just scrap that one thing off your ‘to-do’ list! It is really not necessary!

 

Greengables will close on Friday 20th December and we will return on Monday 6th January 2025! (I cannot believe I am actually writing that!)
