We had a great time exploring print and mark making with paints! The children had the opportunity to use rollers, sponges, cotton buds, cookie cutters and of course, as with every painting activity that we do in Greengables, we like to finish off by getting stuck in with our hands! It's like an unwritten rule!

Sandy Socks! Mathematical fun (who knew that was even a thing!) with socks and spoons! Investigating and making comparisons; heavy and light, big and small, less and more, long and short! So many mathematical concepts during this play! It did of course, go far beyond that, with tests of strength, helping out our friends and having lotsa laughs in the process!

Made in Greengables...... Engineers of the Future: Evolving ideas, using tools, measuring, teamwork! We also managed to squeze in some independent dressing skills! Construction work in a dress.. there are no limits on the children's talents!

Workin' 9 to 5! Car tax, Petty cash and fines for running in the classroom! (The last one was the children's idea, absolutely nothing to do with the grown ups!)

Schnack Time! We love our food! Over the past few weeks the children enjoyed some tasty snacks during the morning! We had some fried rice and prawn crackers as part of our Chinese New Year Celebrations, we made our very own pizza ( this has become a firm favourite with the children this year!) annnd..... We even had Mums, Dads and Grannies join us for our Happy Healthy Kids event to make fruit kebabs! It was great to see so many make the effort to come along, we really appreciate it!

We were very lucky to receive some funding towards a woodworking bench and some real tools! This month the children were introduced to the basics; stubby hammers & nails with wooden discs and small off-cuts of wood. Safety glasses are a must for this activity!
